Greetings, Pink Elephant CommunitY

We hope this message finds you well and thriving since our last newsletter at the start of the Jewish New Year.

We are in that time of winter when it seems that the cold and dark will be with us forever!

When Things Get Cold ❄️

We know that seasonal depression affects many, and it makes sense. We are indoors more, less sunlight and perhaps less human interaction.. It takes more effort – not to mention for many bundling up in layers! To go out and see people, and yet we know that we continue to go, out to meet and continue human connection.

The news we hear lately from all corners of the earth is also troubling. Violence continues to abound in too many communities, and countless individuals are horribly affected. It is imperative that we continue to do our best to promote harmony among all, and to espouse values of goodness, positive energy and light.

Featured Episode 🎧🎙️

With that sentiment in mind  we invite you to enjoy our latest podcast episode featuring the truly one and only Riki Rose—a singer with an extraordinary voice, matched only by her passion for music and truth.

Riki’s music stirs the soul, her music is a universal powerful message in song and spirit and a living singing testament affirming our collective strength and unity while lifting spirits that may feel confused, scared, or angry at this pivotal moment in our history. Her voice reminds us of who we are and who we can be together.

And echoing the mantra from the past two incredibly difficult years and the current state of much world affairs,

we will dance (and sing) again.

Our symbol, the mighty and majestic elephant, teaches us yet another powerful lesson.

When tragedy strikes the herd, when a member passes, elephants will mourn.

Their rituals—circling the deceased with reverence, gently caressing them with their trunks, covering the body with branches, leaves, and earth, and standing watch for hours or even days offer us a profound model of respect, connection, and dignity for those who are grieving.

Sit back and enjoy Riki’s tear-inducing, soulful music along with her spirit and strength. I feel and felt talking to Riki and listening to her powerful voice of the great folk group Peter, Paul, and Mary

"Don't let the light go out!
It's lasted for so many years!
Don't let the light go out!
Let it shine through our love and our tears."

There is darkness, but there is more light and love than darkness- always.

With endless light and love,

Debbie 🐘💗
