Hi, Eveyone!
We hope this message finds you well and thriving since our last newsletter at the start of the Jewish New Year.
We are in that time of winter when it seems that the cold and dark will be with us forever!
Here Comes the Sun Indeed...☀️
After a truly long winter, spring has sprung, and we know that hope springs eternal.
Currently, we are in between the rush and celebration of Passover and the celebration of Shavuot.
Both holidays are significant celebrations in the Jewish calendar and a part of the major holidays of our religion and culture.
As many Jewish holidays both the holiday of Passover and Shavuot heavily center around women and their power.
In the story of Passover, the women made themselves attractive to their husbands ensuring the Jewish nation would continue, while Shavuot centers around the heroine Ruth who joined the faith and pledged herself to the nation. Strength and heroism from ordinary women that changed the course of our history and that we recount every year.
May is also Mother’s Day month, a day where we celebrate the women who embark on the most rewarding and the toughest occupation – the gift of motherhood. Mother’s Day elicits many emotions. For some, it is a day of celebration, and for others a day of longing for children yet to be born or a day of immeasurable grief for children who are no longer here.
Our lovely pink elephants are known for exceptional mothering skills. Mother and daughter elephants form lifelong bonds, and elephants nurture their own plus the other offspring in the tribe.
Elephant mommies are also fiercely protective of their young.
